Job Overview:
The role of Lead Digital Analytics Implementation Engineer focuses on the technical implementation and management of digital analytics and tag management platforms. The individual in this role will play a crucial part in aiding Digital Analysts, Marketing, and Product Management teams in meeting their A/B testing, tag management, and on-site tagging requirements. Reporting directly to the Vice President of IT, this position is central to ensuring data-driven insights for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Ownership: The Lead Engineer will take charge of the digital analytics, tag management, and A/B testing platforms, which include Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Quantum Metrics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the digital analytics team to establish best practices for capturing digital customer interactions across the organization’s digital applications. This involves identifying the correct tags/events to be activated and implementing them using the tag management platform.
- Web Development Partnership: Collaborate with the web development team to review tags and scripts planned for deployment through the tag management platform.
- Data Layer Management: Work alongside the technical leadership team to periodically review the data layer and recommend or assist with any necessary modifications.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and adjust the quality assurance process for tag deployment in the production environment.
- A/B Testing: Assist the Digital Marketing and UX teams with the technical implementation and launch of their A/B testing campaigns.
- Vendor Management: Manage the technical relationship with A/B testing, digital analytics, and tag management SaaS platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Over 4 years of hands-on experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, including building capabilities related to customer journey mapping and conversion funnel analysis.
- Proficiency in JavaScript development and browser-based debugging tools, such as Chrome Dev Tools and Firebug.
- Strong knowledge of A/B testing platforms like Monetate, Optimizely, and Google Optimize.
- Proficiency with session replay platforms such as Tealeaf, Full Story, or Quantum Metric.
- Knowledge of data connectors and the ability to create dashboards using Google Data Studio or similar platforms.
- A data-centric mindset with the ability to define and connect tags/guid to track customer journeys across different platforms.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen and procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes.
- Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available in company offices/branches within respective markets.
