Meta is actively searching for an experienced professional to join its US Indirect Tax team. This role requires a seasoned individual with a comprehensive understanding of US indirect tax principles and a track record of successful multi-functional collaboration. The selected candidate will work closely with various teams, including accounting, finance, and cross-functional business units, to address tax issues, devise solutions, and ensure compliance with tax requirements.
US Indirect Tax Manager Responsibilities:
- Tax Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on diverse sales and use tax inquiries, operationalizing Meta’s products while minimizing tax risks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional groups within the company to assess the tax impact of business operations, identify tax needs, and facilitate communication.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with third-party service providers, Meta’s finance and accounting teams, product teams, and internal legal counsel to ensure compliance with tax requirements.
- Product Taxability: Ensure accurate characterization and implementation of new products within Meta’s sales tax engine, verifying the accuracy of taxability results.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any sales tax system issues identified by the US Indirect Tax team or cross-functional partners.
- Process Improvements: Develop improvements to indirect tax operational processes, emphasizing controls, automation, efficiency, and analytics.
- Adaptability: Adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines, analyze and solve problems, work independently, and demonstrate the ability to motivate and influence others.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in US indirect tax with a detailed understanding of the application of sales tax principles to technology products.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships and communicate complicated tax technical matters to all levels and business functions.
- Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Relevant experience understanding multiple technology stacks and partner integrations.
- A mentality that balances individual ownership and accountability with collaboration and partnership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation.
- 10+ years of US indirect tax experience.
- Combined Big4 or law firm and technology industry experience.
- Experience working with sales and use tax software (Vertex).
- Broad indirect tax background in procurement and supply chain; property tax experience is a plus.
- Experience with improving, automating, and implementing tax processes and workflows.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Proficient in G-suite.

Salary Range: $142,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
