Database Engineer Responsibilities:
- Ensure the scalability, robustness, and quality of enterprise infrastructure systems, encompassing databases, applications, and infrastructure toolsets.
- Collaborate with a team of highly technical database engineers responsible for maintaining global database systems for Enterprise Engineering.
- Monitor and tune database performance, handle backup and recovery processes, and optimize database administration and management through coding and automation.
- Support day-to-day operations, manage geographically dispersed infrastructure, disaster recovery environments, and docker containers.
- Contribute to meeting KPIs and SLAs by managing task queues.
- Support large-scale global disaster recovery exercises in collaboration with other infrastructure, production, and business teams at Meta.
- Troubleshoot, isolate faults, and communicate effectively across infrastructure, applications, and business teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, and three years of work experience in the job offered or a computer-related occupation.
- Three years of experience working in environments such as Oracle, MongoDB, or MS SQL servers.
- Proficiency in operating application stack environments, including Hyperion, Agile, Oracle Fusion, Oracle EBS, UiPath, or Vertex.
- Experience with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes.
- Administration and deployment of development CI/CD tools such as GIT, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins.
- Building security layers around applications, including DMZ, reverse proxy, firewalls, NAT, port, subnetting, VPC, and VPNs.
- Proficiency in Python, Shell, and other languages used in system tooling (e.g., Ruby, Perl).
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Chef.
- Proficiency in working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Amazon Web Services Cloud environments.
Compensation:
- Annual salary: $166,358.00 to $180,000.00 + bonus + equity + benefits.
- Individual pay determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
- Compensation details reflect base salary and do not include bonus, equity, or sales incentives.
